We strive to ensure all horses in our care are are given five star treatment from the moment they enter the yard.
Being based in Newmarket we are lucky to be surrounded by world class veterinary facilities and professionals. Pete Ramzan is our primary vet at Rossdales. Their practice is located just a 2 minute drive from our yard so any emergencies can be dealt with swiftly. Pete is world renowned and a nominated vet for the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
Our farrier Mark Hones has worked with our family for three generations, starting with Julia's father Peter who also trained in the village. Mark is vastly experienced and shod all of Jeremy Noseda's horses and now does Charlie Fellowes' before coming to us in the afternoons. We rarely have any hoof issues thanks to Mark and if a horses arrives with an issue it is always resolved.
Being athletes the horses tend to get muscular aches and pains. Our physiotherapist Grainne from Newmarket Equine Physio works wonders with her hands and equipment. Equine physiotherapy is used to maintain the equine athlete at it's peak, improving core muscular strength and improving poor performance.
When a horse reaches the end of their racing career it it is vitally important that their five star treatment continues after leaving us. We work hard to rehome every horse appropriately whether that be in another equine discipline or just as a happy hacker. We have successfully rehomed horses for polo, eventing and to the British Racing School amongst other places. If they haven't performed well as racehorses they often find their calling in other disciplines and the grounding they had as racehorses stands them in good stead as they have experienced the sights and sounds at the races. After leaving us we always try to keep in contact and often feature horses on our blog and social media in retirement.
